I thoroughly enjoy my career in childcare and wish to pursue it further, I have a keen interest in childcare, education and health. In the child care settings in which I have worked I have gained the opportunity to develop my knowledge and skills and capitalise my natural abilities as an effective communicator. I have 10 years childcare experience and also several years of working in hospitality.

I worked in Links Nursery for 5 years and became a contributing team member, through achieving my SVQ 2 & 3 qualifications, becoming a room supervisor and then covering the deputy manager position I have been able to put into practice my fuller understanding of carrying out my role as a reflective practitioner and contribute to the overall quality of support within the nursery. This included managing and supervising room and nursery staff and giving guidance to new staff, agency staff and students. I would also regularly receive positive feedback from parents, managers and regulatory inspectors on my work practice.

I worked in the RHSC for 2 years; I assisted in looking after sick children from the age of 0-16. I gained lots of skills and experience and accurately followed all procedures, guidelines, health & safety policies and detailed individual plans of care, e.g. – risk assessment, special dietary requirements, administering prescribed medication, personal care and follow appropriate child protection protocols. In this position I gave detailed and important hand over information verbally, record legibly, have good observation skills and recognise the need to pass on information accurately to all relevant people. I am able to provide support and information and can do so sensitively. I have experience of managing conflict calmly and this often leads to resolution of the problem. I believe I have the aptitude and commitment to meet new challenges and always welcome further training opportunities.
Interests & Hobbies
I am very sociable and friendly and enjoy meeting new people, very much enjoy travelling and experiencing new cultures. I also enjoy playing tennis and horse riding.
