Work Experience Accounts Assistant
During this work experience week I partook in office work for the local medical centre. This was my first experience of day-to-day work which I found highly valuable.
2008 Hiltonia Beach Resort Abu Dhabi, UAE
Summer Camp Staff Worker
Assisted the hotel staff in providing daycare for children, organised activities such as games and parties. The experience was highly rewarding as I improved my communication skills from looking after the children throughout the summer.
2009 Al Noor Hospital Abu Dhabi, UAE
Work Experience Assistant
During this week I worked in numerous areas of the hospital to gain an understanding how it operates. Providing assistance in dentistry, paediatrics and gynaecology was an interesting experience that improved upon my skills.
SKILLS
In gaining my Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards, the latter of which was completed this year, I gained numerous skills that will be useful in my later life. Volunteering in the Rehab Centre, a local hospital that provided care for children with special needs as well as the Future Centre, a school that provided education for children with special needs was initially challenging yet became an experience I will never forget. It was both character building and gave me an understanding of how to pass on knowledge. Completing the 80 kilometre expedition was also challenging, however due to the fact that this task involved being part of a group this improved my team building skills greatly.
