Experience

• Student Teaching at Parkside Elementary and Ojeda Middle School (Spring 2010) – Created and taught lesson plans for all classes, directed a play at Ojeda, attended all faculty meetings.
• Observed and taught lessons to a 2nd grade math class at Hillcrest Elementary (Spring 2009). My objective was to teach math in a creative way, using theatre games and techniques. I taught lessons on 3D shapes, numbers and number lines, multiplication and division.
• Directing the Young Performer Festival (November 2008) – Directed a play with students from LBJ High School. The festival consisted of 12 short plays, performed at the University of Texas. My play was Medea by Christopher Durang and Wendy Wasserstein. I held auditions at the high school, rehearsed twice a week for 15 weeks, put together costumes, and designed the scenery.
• UIL One Act Play State Championships (May 2009) – Worked during OAP ushering, and taking/selling tickets.
• UIL Workshops – Katy Dawson (UT Professor – Drama and Theatre for Youth and Communities) and I taught a 90-minute workshop to high school students about film. We taught film terminology, how to use a camera, and coached students while they made shorts films (Fall 2008).
• Observed and taught lessons to a Beginning Theatre I class at Dripping Springs High School (Fall 2009). I taught lessons on vocal warm-ups, movement exercises, improvisation, and team building activities.
• During my Curriculum Design class at The University of Texas at Austin, I developed a yearlong theatre curriculum for 4th grade (Fall 2009).
