PERSONAL STATEMENT
I feel that I would be a good candidate for this job as I have had over 5 year’s experience of working with children and families. This includes working with children with disabilities.
I am trained at NVQ and BTEC level and have been in my previous childcare role for 4 years.
I can work under my own initiative; I am an excellent time keeper and have outstanding attendance.
In my previous job I work as a Healthcare Assistant in A and E in Broomfield Hospital. I thoroughly enjoy this but feel that I am better suited to working with children and babies so I would like to get back into the age range that I feel I am more confident and knowledgeable in.
Some of my responsibilities as a Nursery Practitioner were, offering excellent care for children between the ages of 0-5 years, planning and implementing activities, working closely with parents to advise and work together towards their children’s physical, social and emotional needs using the EYFS framework. Filling in daily report cards and reporting back to the parents in a detailed way, observations of what the children have been doing during the day. Basic food preparation, light office duties, taking parent enquiries, offering support to anxious parents over the telephone and face to face, working to the National Minimum Standards and knowing how important these are, the nursery has always gained an outstanding Ofsted result.
I am able to work as a member of the team and feel that excellent communication is the key to a successful team.
I feel that I am professional at all times and understand the importance of confidentiality. I am always interested in furthering my knowledge and am willing to take part in training where possible. I have a particular interest in Child Protection and have completed a course in this. I hold a current driving license and am a confident driver.
I am able to voice my own opinions openly to support the needs of others, I understand the importance of equality and diversity as I have a brother with learning difficulties and have an understanding of people’s needs as individuals.
