I have 8 years experience in childcare and qualified as a level 3 nursery nurse in 2005. I have experience in the workplace with children from 3 months upto 5 years. I also have two step children aged 5 and 9 aswell as niece and nephews which i spend alot of time with their ages from 1month old up to 15 yrs old. I love being with children i spent just over 7years woking in a day nursery where i worked my way up from just being an nursery assistant when i first started to being in charge of the under 2s unit and just before i left i was offered the deputy managers position but decided this wasnt for me as it didnt involve spending much time with the children which is my favourite part of the job. I now work as an early years worker in a school/childrens centre where i care for children from 1year to 5 years. During my time at the day nursery i regularly did babysitting for the parents at the setting and friends that they recommended me to. I also hold certificates for special educational needs from training i have attended as my previous role i was the settings special educational needs co-ordinator and spent two years caring for a child with cri du chat syndrome and one year caring for a child with downs syndrome aswell as children with speech, hearing and behavioural needs over the 7 years.
