Hello! My name is Juliana and I am writing to tell you a liltle about myself and the type of family I am hoping to go and live with. Am 28 years old and i live in Lilongwe which is the capital city of Malawi.
So what am I like? Well, I always try to be happy and friendly and helpful to other people whenever l can. I am a little bit shy, but I soon get to know people and have lots of friends here in Lilongwe.I come from a family of 6: Both my parents work and they stay in the northern part of Malawi. I have 3 sisters and 2 brothers. We are a family with a Christian background and all children brought up under Christian values.
When it comes to child care experience, I have worked in an expatriate family home for two years caring for two kids, 5 and 2 years old. Among other duties I was responsible for waking them up, bathing, feeding, taking them to school and getting them back when they knock off. Playing with them and helping with their homework. I also worked at a nursery school for a year assisting to organize children and took part in recreational indoor and outdoor activities: we sang, danced, played games, role played, drew, painted, and narrated stories. We also visited the local animal park, went out on picnics and a camping trip.
When it comes to leisure, I take pleasure in simple things in life. I enjoy having fun,picnics,crafts, visiting the parks,being with my friends and family time, visiting places I have not been to, watching TV and reading a good book. I also enjoy trying new recipes,walking on the beach,shopping,dancing, swimming, playing with kids and sports activities.
As far as preferences are concerned, I am looking for a live-in arrangement with a host family, that would be happy to have me stay with and work for them for at least 12 to 24 months. I would also prefer looking after children aged between 6 months to 12 years. Lastly, although I am quite flexible, I would prefer to have working hours that would allow me to attend day time language classes because apart from learning a new culture I would love to learn a language.
I would be happy to have the opportunity to speak with you: to answer whatever questions you may have about me or my childcare experiences; to learn more about your family; your interests and to know more about what you expect from the au pair arrangement.
