I have over 16 years experience of working with young children in various settings including day nurserys, as a nanny and as a foster carer.. I have experience of caring for children with special needs such as autism, adhd and similar developmental or emotional difficulties. I am firm but fair, very patient, calm and love caring for children, including the often messier side of things!!
I have an enhanced disclosure from the CRB and a recent first aid certificate.

I have had a lot of experience with children, particularly under 7's and also with special needs. I done voluntary work whilst at school and college, also having an after school babysitting job within my family. After college I went on to have a full time job at a day nursery for under 2's, then two subsequent nannying posts.
I began fostering in November 2002 and have found it incredibly rewarding. I felt it was time for a change and took a temporary nannying post in April 2010.
Recently I have had several occasional and temporary babysitting and childcare jobs. These families would be more than happy to provide an up to date reference. I also have references from my previous nannying posts.

Regular First Aid traing (most recent Jan '10)
City and Guilds certificate in Family and Community Care
NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social care (children and young people)
Makaton stage two (I have been recently expanding this knowledge by myself)
Public Health and Hygiene (with hons)
