Experience
Group Leader/ Instructor, PGl Borreaton Park, Shropshire - March to November 2010
I have been instructing Climbing, Jacobs ladder, Trapeze, Raft building, Vertical challenge, zip wire, archery, orienteering, problem solving, challenge course, low ropes and also group leading. Within all of these activities I have the responsibility of caring for the children’s safety and welfare. These children may have behavioural, physical or mental health issues which would need to be addressed or the session would have to be modified for them. Some children may also become home sick after being away from home for longer than normal, so may need comforting. As an instructor I take the children for a session of a particular activity and then make sure they go back to their group leader. As a group leader, I am responsible for taking the children to and from meals, free time games, evening activities and general pastoral care.
Waitress, Valvonna and Crolla, Edinburgh - February to March 2010
I worked as a waitress full time for 6 days a week. My job included seating customers and giving them menus. I also took their orders and made sure that they got the correct orders as quickly as possible. I then cleared their tables and took them their bills and took their payment. I also would open up or close up the cafe, making sure everything was cleaned and restocked. I also helped with the presentation of the cafe. I took orders from customers, cleared tables, made coffees etc. organised and restocked the cafe bar. I also helped with presentation within the cafe area.
Nanny, Edinburgh - July 2009 to December 2009
I was the Nanny for an Edinburgh family from the start of July this year. I looked after the needs and activities of their 2 children. The youngest was 18 months old, and the eldest was 4 years old. I worked 3 days a week, ensuring that the eldest got to and from school, as well as helping her with her homework, I also ensure the youngest has his sleeps, arrange and take part in a variety of activities during the day with him and changed his nappies. I also prepared their meals and gave them both a bath before putting them to bed. As well as these duties, I did some minor housework.
Nursery Assistant - work experience, heriot hill nursery, Edinburgh - august 2008
This experience required that I work closely with 2 - 3 year olds undertaking all usual Nursery Nurse duties, e.g. reading stories, playing, creative activities, putting them to bed, feeding and general housekeeping duties. This was a full-time work experience.
Waitress, Cafe Severn, Upton-upon-Severn, Worcestershire - p/t & holidays 2006 & 2007
This job required me to take orders for food and drinks, handle cash and serve at table. I dealt with the public on a day to day basis, both serving and answering queries and complaints. I worked as part of a team undertaking general housekeeping duties e.g. washing up, clearing tables, general tidying and cleaning etc. This job was part-time for festivals and weekends and full-time in school holidays.
Babysitter, Worcester, Worcestershire - 2004 to 2007
I cared for children between the ages of 3 and 11 for 2 families. I worked alone and used my creative and practical skills. I prepared meals and provided entertainment and care for the children for whole and half days and evenings.
